8 TV shows/series to binge watch !

Hello Humans !!

So today's blogpost is a compilation of a few tv series that I really like watching. I can't say that they are my all time favourites - that is a far too difficult list to write. However, I would say they are very entertaining and I have binge watched most of them - hence the title of the article.

Also, this is not a post where I give you an idea of the plot whatsoever - watch the shows to find out. I have inserted trailers where ever I could find a suitable one. I have no idea what is wrong with YouTube search because fan videos seem to pop up first and I tried looking for the network's original trailers in vain - too many fan vids. Not that I do not like fan videos but YouTube has got to work on its search results ! Better get on with this list otherwise this will become a rant about YT XD

Enjoy !!

1. Gossip Girl

"Gossip Girl here - your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite"

The above sentence describes the whole show actually :p It about the drama in Upper East Side..

Blair Waldorf is the only reason I watched the series till the end. Also, it kind of satisfies everyone's secret desire of wanting the lives of these high class personalities.

2. Game of Thrones

You would be 'uncool' these days if you haven't started watching Game of Thrones. 6 seasons in, it is really gripping and you can never expect what is going to happen next. Also, it is probably the biggest show on television right now.

The first 2-3 episodes are a pain to watch to be honest - I could not understand anything. But you gotta keep watching.. after 5 - 6 episodes, you won't stop binging ;p

3. Sherlock

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock <3 What better could you ask for??
This one is probably the best show on this list. Basically it is about the adventures of Sherlock and Dr Watson. There are not many episodes but all of them absolutely worth it.

4. Orphan Black

Orphan Black is a must watch. I have already raved about it in two previous blog posts so feel free to check those out :)

Also, my favourite character is FELIX !!! <3 He is like gay best friend goals :p

5. Quantico

This one is damn good ! Not your average love story or cliche tv show. I have never come across any show like this before and I cannot wait for season 2 !!

6. Grey's Anatomy

12 seasons old and a 13 season on the way - there must be something about the show for it to have run for so long ! It is very very very dramatic. No one is perfect in the show and everyone is trying to be the best version that they can of themselves - basically living. You get to follow the storylines of various characters even if Meredith Grey is the lead of the show. Definitely my favourite !!

I had actually come across the season 8 finale on YouTube and it was so heart breaking. I went and binge watched the whole thing !! Never regretted !

7. Switched at Birth

This one is more for teenagers I think - but i love watching it anyway !! :p

title says it all :p

8. Mistresses

If you like the Gossip Girl vibe, then Mistresses will fill in the void for you. It is not on the Upper East Side and the people are not as rich, but the show still reminds me of Gossip Girl. Maybe due to the same writers.

Anyhow, gotta go

Humans these days

Hello globe dwellers !

I have been thinking a lot these days - pretty much the only exercise to my brain actually and I have come to realise that I do not really like people all that much anymore. Not sure if I am selfish, spiteful and simply careless or because I cannot stand the stupidity of most of humans these days. Not talking about IQ here..just you know..generally... OR maybe this is some sort of phase..

Long ago I used to be popular and I loved it. I enjoyed having a ton of friends and the more people talked to me, the better I used to feel about myself. Going out with friends, engaging in meaningless conversations, making fun of everything, trying to impress others - sort of like making a place for myself and fitting in - these pretty much defined me.
To be very honest, I even used to feel somewhat superior to others. Very shitty logic - I know. When people craved my attention or when I was the topic of conversations, I used to love it. I felt strangely powerful. It was only temporary though. Maintaining that image required too much effort - the more you gave, in terms of time and energy, the more you had to keep giving. The only thing I used to receive in return was a slight boost in self esteem for a short period of time and them pouff...gone. The whole facade became my life very quickly. I would get very defensive and territorial when anyone would try and take that away from me - be it my mother preventing me from attending a party or anyone doing better than me out there. I used to believe that my popularity was all that mattered.

Since I was a child I got into the habit of telling people what was 'nice' to hear and stuff that would get me their 'approval' and 'recognition'. Not that I am a polite, gentle person - I can be so mean and tactless - I could easily play one of the mean girls. I did not bully though..Instead I would devote my time and energy to stuff that did not matter - instead of studying I would focus on other activities - mainly those that involved grabbing the attention of other people. I worked hard to be the shallowest version of myself - thinking that I was portraying a strong, invincible person. In reality, I was consistently screwing up everything that would eventually make me strong and invincible. Plus, I am the kind of person who, unless realises things by herself, will have a very hard time abiding or listening to advice. I try to..but really until it makes sense in my head - it does not make sense (if that whole sentence made sense XD). I genuinely feel so bad when I am told that I am wrong because I would like to do the right thing. Just can't seem to get the formula right.

Truth is I never really quite 'fitted' anywhere - I lied my way through and usually found myself saying stuff that I genuinely did not believe in. It was as if I was watching myself enacting some part of a theatre play or something. I really did not like getting into conversations where I would feel vulnerable - especially with people who do not give a damn - just curious.

Anyway, the point is.. none of those things matter anymore. I feel good not having to talk to people - even those I considered my friends. There are fragments of friendship that remain - but there are truly very few I would like to keep. Some I am eager to let go of. Even family members - I just do not get it. I feel like it  is so fake - everyone pretending like they care and talking talking talking talking talking - giving endless advice.. THEN in time of need... talkers disappear. Also, There is no way that they accept you for who you are - there are a set of pre conceived notions as to how you are supposed to be - what you are supposed to do blablablablablablabla. So many bloody expectations. I know one should just do their thing and not care about what others say - but really...could others stop shoving their faces into people's business? get a life. Seriously. Live and let live - that is the motto we should all be living by.

Maybe this is a phase I am going through... or a phase that everyone goes through. I just feel so angry at the world.. too much oppression. There may be no guns around here but people can speak daggers and poniards ! Probably this is what adulthood feels like? Wanting to run away ? It gets too much some times - I just want it to stop - I have been wanting that for quite a while actually. Feeling demotivated -disgusted - discouraged - not much to go on. It comes in waves - there are days where I am more patient than others - and days like today where I wish I could cease to exist. It would not matter to most people - I know it would shatter some though.

Anyhow, I have no idea why I felt the need to write all this on my blog. I hope in a few months I laugh my ass off when I read this post again. I really wish I am not feeling the exact same way in the future.

La Margarita Hotel - Mauritius | Day Package via Marideal.mu | Review

Hello Humans of the globe !!

How's life? Hope all's good and fantabulous :)

So recently, I went to spend the day at La Margarita Hotel found at Pointe aux Piments through Marideal.mu : http://marideal.mu/margarita-hotel-day-use-room.html

Of course, like everyone these days, I googled the place and wanted to read a few reviews before going in. However, I could barely find any that were elaborate. So I decided to write a blog post so that it may be of some help to other Mauritians or tourists that are interested.

First of all, if you are going by the bus you should go to 'La Gare du Nord' in Port Louis and take the bus to Pointe aux Piments. It may sound obvious but I am sure a lot of people would not know that :p
I suggest going by car or a taxi because it is a really long trip, can get very tiring and annoying as well since the busses are not exactly comfortable.
Second, you cannot go in expecting a 5 star hotel.

It is a small hotel, perfect for getaways especially if you want to disconnect yourself from daily life and routine. I liked the fact that it was very private and remote. If you would like to spend some quality time with someone, this place is a good option.

The day package costs Rs 900 for one person, and it is a very reasonable price for what you get.

Upon arrival, the staff greeted us very politely. After the formalities, a cocktail was served - as promised by the day package.

Welcome cocktail :

Afterwards, we were taken to the room, and given a little tour.

The room :

Overall the room is quite nice.

There is a television with local channels - definitely not something I would go for if I were to stay there for a few days. There was plenty of storage - too much I would say. The cupboard was really big and took up a lot of space. There was no duvet - only a quilt folded in the cupboard. To be very honest, I was disgusted by the quilt - would not even touch it, let alone cover myself with it to sleep. The hotel could really invest in duvets. The bed was really comfortable though.
I forgot to take a picture of the bathroom, but it was okay. The toilet seat was somewhat yellow - not because it was dirty, but I think it was old.
There was no mini fridge nor any mini bar in the room, just fyi.

View from the room :

I did miss a beach view :( Not to worry though, the beach is quite close to the hotel. I'd say a five minute walk maximum.

Lunch (Salmi de Poulet) :

The staff had asked around what time we would like to have our lunch upon arrival.

Everything was ready when we went down to eat and I loved that. I absolutely hate waiting for food in restaurants etc, I am glad I did not have to.

I was so famished I forgot to take a picture before eating. I will insert one that I took after I had begun to eat, sorry in advance if it's not very good looking.

The lunch did not include drinks - I wish it did. Even water would be nice but we were not offered anything. The menu had prices excluding vat, which was annoying because you really do not feel like doing the maths in order to know how much you are going to pay for drinks when you are out there to have a good time.
The food menu was quite limited as well. The food was really yummy though. Quality was good (y)

One thing that really bug me was the cutlery - I was not sure it was 100% clean. I found a layer of dust on the spoon, which means that it was not changed for a while. The napkins were really old, rusty I would say. Even the table cloth was old.

Deserts :

Deserts were okay. As i mentioned earlier, for the price paid, you cannot expect fancy schmancy stuff :p

Another thing I did not quite appreciate was the fact that we were not given another set of spoons for desert. Like, what was I supposed to eat my ice cream with? The dust layered tablespoon? I am not sure you eat desert with a table spoon either.

Also, There was an empty beer glass that was not taken away, nor was the chilli pickle before they served us desert.

It made me realise that the staff probably do not have any formal kind of training.

They  were extremely polite and sweet, no doubt about that. Certain fundamentals missing though. There is considerable room for improvement.

The Restaurant :

 The Bar area :

There is a pool table next to the bar - I forgot to take a picture.
We did not have anything from the bar so no idea about the drinks menu.

The entrance :

I had a really nice day at La Margarita Hotel, mostly because I was in extremely good company :)

The place may not be huge but it is worth a try.

If you are a tourist coming to Mauritius to explore the island, looking for a place to crash at night - then La Margarita is a perfect choice. If you want a beach view, and are coming only for the white sand, azure blue sky, paradise island feeling, then it is not the place for you.

If you are on a tight budget and would like to treat yourself to a holiday, then definitely try this one.

Anyhow, I really hope this post was helpful to anyone out there.

Gotta run,
BusLady

Skin care tips for the Winter | My top essential products for glorious skin during Winter | Affordable products

Hello Blogging World !

It is winter here in Mauritius. It sounds funny saying that because a few years back, winter was not really winter like.. It was more of a cool summer really (still is in certain places around the island). However, we all know about climate change..so xp

Anyhow, my skin has never gone through so much trouble before because of the seasons. Also, I live on the Central Plateau - so the temperature is cooler and well, my skin suffers. I had to come up with some tricks so that I would not be peeling off, or looking like Jorah from Game of Thrones (someone told me the skin of my hand was beginning to look like that -.-).

So this post is going to be about some affordable products and few tips.

1. First and foremost, use a moisturising formula for your shower gel.

Very important. And yeah, avoid soap unless it is a special kind of soap that will not damage your skin.

2. Water

I know it's cold and you don't feel thirsty but getting those 2 L of water will keep your skin hydrated. Added bonus : you will cleanse your body as well :p

3. Face moisturiser

It is imperative that you apply moisturiser regularly, at least once a day. If you are one of those people that have perfect skin, then i hate you, get out ! XD
My skin starts peeling off when I don't use anything on it for a few days so moisturiser daily is a must. Screw climate change for these low temperatures. I live on a bloody island. Should be summer..all the time.

I use the Bioderma Sensibio Rich during winter ( in the summer I use another formula). It is really light on the skin and works wonders. If you didnt know already, I am a fan of Bioderma products :p This is probably the most expensive product but absolutely worth it especially when it comes to the face.

4. Hand creams | ESSENTIAL

Since I am not really a fan of moisturisers and I use them against my will, I tend to use products that will not feel heavy on the skin. So far, the only hand creams I could bear to use are those of Nivea. Plus they smell good <3
I usually have one in my handbag and one at home. You can totally tell from the pictures which one stays in my bag XD

5. Vaseline - Oldie but Goodie

Good old Vaseline  - always works. You can apply it anywhere really. I do not like the feeling of Vaseline on my skin but recently it has become a must. It acts like a quick fix because it really does help heal skin. Also, it is not that expensive. At times when my lips are extremely chapped, i apply Vaseline, after 15 minutes I'm good to go ! This thing works despite the ugly taste ! Long ago the smell was intolerable but it fairly okay now.

Also, how cute is the new packaging? I'm totally in love with it.

6. BABY OIL

Ever wondered why babies have soft skin?
Because thy have people rubbing them with oils ever since they are born ( especially in Mauritius..that tradition where an old lady comes and heats the oil and massages the baby..no idea what you call that ritual).
So keep up the tradition and apply oil to your skin.. of course you have to apply it at reasonable times of the day. Before going to bed for example. It can be used as an alternative to moisturiser.

7. Lip balm

Crucial, especially when you are out and about. Nothing is more disgusting than chapped lips. I hate the feeling of cracked lips. I also hate the feeling of lip care but i'd rather apply it.

I usually use Babylips from Maybelline.

8. Regular Body Moisturiser

Well everyone uses basic moisturiser. I use Nivea..again light on the skin and not sticky.

9. Do not get out of the house

Really..stay in bed, all comfy :3

Anyway hope that helps.

Good bye,
BusLady

Current favourite YouTube Channels | Top 11 YouTube Channels to binge watch

Hey there Humans :)

What's up??

Well, I am currently during holidays. I am LOVING it..because I spend my time doing mostly nothing :p There are so many things I could do but I I'm just so tired you know..

Anyway, so when I am actually doing something, a lot of the times it is watching YouTube. Who doesn't??

Below is a list of the channels I watch religiously (in alphabetical order because I could not seem to arrange those in order of preference) :

1. ANUSHA Dandekar

Basically the Indian-Australian version of Zoella :p
To be honest, I like Anusha better though :p She is a model and already had a successful career before she started her YT channel. She calls her show Diva on Duty. She is really lovely.
Her tips are very useful, doable and not over the top. Some of her videos are hilarious - the 7 seconds challenge she had with her boyfriend or the song challenge with her best friend.

She was a judge on the first season of India's Next Top Model and my favourite !! :) I am all praise !!!

2.BBC AMERICA

I love their shows because I find them quite unique, for example orphan black!!!! Plus bloopers, making of, extended scenes <3 LOVE LOVE LOVE !!

3. BUBZVLOGZ

Lindy aka Bubz was literally the first youtuber I ever subscribed to!! She has a beauty channel as well, Bubzbeauty but I recently started liking the vlog channel better. She was living in Hong Kong and recently moved back to Ireland. Her poop stories are epic!!! XD
Also, the pep talks <3
I love how she is way too honest with the camera.. so real xp No fake shit :p
There is not trailer..so I am linking the latest uploaded video xp

4. CASPAR LEE

Who does not love Caspar???? :p Again, one the very first youtubers I  began watching. He is funny..there are no deep meaning to his videos, it's mostly fun and hilarious! Plus he is good looking, added bonus!! This is the cutest video and one of my favourites :

5. Cupcake Jemma

She owns Crumbs and Doilies in London.. She does amazing cakes and cupcakes. Very fancy decorations as well on the baked goods. I always watched her videos. I have attempted a few recipes, turns out quite good (would be excellent if i had skills in the kitchen) :

6. Jacksgap

Twin brothers - Jack and Finn - started this channel. Jack is mostly in charge of the channel as Finn is studying in New York now to become a graphic designer. In the beginning they used to do usual challenges and 'stupid' videos. However, they do more concrete videos now, the latest one is on Climate change. They went on an expedition with scientists - it was really cool.

I love how they did not keep on the stupidity theme as did a lot of other youtubers. Like if they are making money out of their channel, well it is for a great content.

LOVE LOVE LOVE !!

7. Laura in the Kitchen

There are a lot of cooking channels out there. For obvious reasons, I seem to connect more with Laura. She is adorable and her personality makes her great. I also watch her vlog and beauty channel - despite the fact that these are not her main focus.
She also has a cooking show on television in the US called Simply Laura - do check it out.

8. Niomi Smart

I simply love her videos and her personality really.

9. SciShow

One can always learn new things and Scishow has got some really interesting videos. It is not very difficult to keep up as well.

10. The SacconeJolys

I just like to watch other people's lives really  xp
And well i like watching them.. Eduardo and Emilia are so cute !!!

11. Tyler Oakley!!!!

I just have a good laugh each and every time :)
And the SASS! Love it (y)

I thought I would write some of my current favourites. Any of you looking for new channels to binge watch may find some inspiration as well. Also, feel free to leave any of your favourite, especially if any new youtubers out there..would love to know you :)

Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 9 : Battle of Bastards | Thoughts & Spoilers

JON BLOODY SNOW ! MY HERO !!!

Hello humans of the world,

If you do not watch Game of Thrones, then please go live under a rock.

Today's episode was MASSIVE ! It made up for the last two somewhat boring episodes..
I assume those were something along the lines of  ' the calm before the storm' type of thing. And it really was !!

That Battle scene.. bloody hell.

Awestruck. It was amazeballs.

My love and admiration for Jon has grown to another level. That character never fails - he fights white walkers, he cheated death and even earned the wildlings' respect. He did show some nuance of hopelessness in the episode though.. first when all those horses were running towards him and second when he was being crushed. Yet he kept going on.
When he attacked Ramsay... I'm sure like me, most of you heaved a sigh of relief and were like : IN YOUR FACE MOTHERF**** !!!

Also, How gentlemanly is Jon? My heart melted a little when he asked Melissandre : 'Any advice?'
He has so much experience, yet how courteous of him <3

Additionally I wanted to punch him in the face when he asked her.. nope, ordered her not to revive him.
The grandeur of that battle scene was epic. It was filmed  on a huge scale and you could feel it was gigantic while watching. I wonder how that episode would have felt if I could watch it in a theatre. Better even in 3D !

And can we take a moment to swoon over the Knights of The Vale????? I have been waiting to see them in action ( even if it was not much). I just love the sound of KNIGHTS OF THE VALE. I used to love it when Lysa Arryn used to say that XD

New found respect for Davos! He is a sensible chap that one.
I can totally feel the tension mounting because he found the remains of Lady Shireen's pyre thing? and that little stag she used to carry around.
I wonder what this reveleation would mean for that Melissandre. I am grateful to her for Jon Snow's life but aside from that, me not very fond of her.

On a lighter note, I totally loved the conversation Davos had with the wildling :p

"Happy Shitting" - Tormund should have wished that to Ramsay before Jon smashed his face into a pulp.

Anyway Bolton : GONE !

Sansa for once used her brain cells and did not let the man control her life. Hopefully she is a wiser woman now - better be ! It would have been really shit had she not done what she did in the episode. I love how she did not get her hands dirty...someone else, say Arya might have demanded to kill Ramsay with her own hands. Sansa used Ramsay's ways itself. Thumbs up for that ! I have greater expectations from Sansa now. Though, I have watched the preview for next week's finale... that conversation with Baelish does not seem good.

Now that the Direwolf banner is back onto Winterfell, I am eagerly awaiting Arya's return.
Also, from the preview, is Jon the Lord of Winterfell & Warden of the North now?

Please do check out the making of this scene :

Mother of Dragons

Daenerys Targaryan never fails to impress.

I seriously hope that she and Jon Snow are somehow related. They both have shown incredible qualities and consistent growth.

Drogon is HOT btw! Pun intended :p The scene where the dragons destroyed pretty much everything did not surprise me because by now, that is the kind of reaction you really expect from Dany. Or maybe the battle scene was too much too handle, hence I could not salivate on this particular scene xD

Can we pause and take a moment to talk about the flirty conversation between Asha and Dany? LOVE LOVE LOVE !!! We already know that Asha likes girls.. it would be wonderful to see Dany step into foreign waters xD
Tyrion as always, uses his words as weapons. I miss Varys ! I wonder what mission he is on.

Anyhow, Game of Thrones <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Leaves me speechless ! Today's episode met the usual standards. Can't wait for next week !! If you haven't watched next week's preview, there you go :

On that note, penning off,

Worth

Every one is worth some thing to someone..supposedly. What if that is not true? What if every one of us just pretends and only have some selfish motif behind every act?

Man do it more often than women.. And nope I'm not sexist and even if the previous statement sounds sexist, well there is some truth to it. I have grown up amidst such an environment. Also if it were not true then, why would educating the girl child be a worldwide issue? Why would gender equality be an issue? It would not be if men and women were treated equally.

I think it is still a man's world.

If somebody would enlighten me as to why men feel that they have this superiority over women? What is it that they do really? Not much. Even the Y chromosome that determines their gender is shrinking according to scientists. Then why the hell are men so self righteous? They cannot guve birth. They do not have the emotional strength as do women. Women are more likely to protect their children than man. Men do what? Provide food and money? Then rebuke you for it? Women are smarter and have the potential to be more successful than men so that was a moot point. So if someone could explain the logic behind men's belief that they are the superior creature? They do not seem to be equipped with much.. Except the ability to harm, hurt, lie and trick you maybe.

It sucks really.. To be treated like shit. I wonder what men would do in a world with no women?!

Anyhow in my whole entire lifetime I have seen men ill treating women. Not necessarily physical violence( which I have seen and experienced as well) but mentally as well. There is simply no respect..at all. The fathers. Brothers. Uncles. Brother in laws. Cousins. Never ever have I seen a case of actual gender equality in my family.

It makes me disgusted. I really wish and hope that men realise the worth of women. Really..

You will not be less of a man if you decide to be less of a dick and treat others respectfully. Women were not born to serve you and do not bloody owe you anything.

Anyhow, this rant is getting sad now. Better pen off.
If any one out there feels the same way, just breathe and find a way to get out. Slowly but surely. Do not forget the pain or how much it hurts. Breed it and then someday you will look back and be proud of how far you were able to go. That's the best advice i can give you.

Seriously pissed,
BusLady

BIODERMA | Sebium AKN

Hello Humans !!

Today's blog post is about one of my essentials - the Bioderma Smoothing purifying care.

If you tend to have break outs once in a while - especially when time of the month is around the corner, then you are going to love this. I have never met anyone in my life who would not love to have perfect clear skin. I wish mine were but it ain't :(
Anyway, so you know when your zits go away and leave those ugly scars - your skin feels uneven and not very nice. ENTER Sebium AKN - this thing works like magic !

I usually apply it after I have washed my skin with a face wash. After a few hours you definitely notice a big change. The skin feels smoother, pores look tighter ( I am not sure if it tightens pores but definitely feels like it) and more importantly, the skin looks & feels CLEAN. If you want to clear up the skin on your face, definitely try this,.

The first time I applied this on my skin, it was stinging ! It was not unbearable but very uncomfortable. I thought I was having an allergic reaction or something but after a few minutes the sensation disappeared. I realised the cream was actually working - hence the stinging sensation. I have been using this cream for 2 years now and never had a rash or any sort of allergies. It gives amazing results.

On the back it says apply once or twice a day. In the beginning I used to apply it once or twice a day. Now I do not really feel the need to apply it every single day.

If I am going to be staying at home - in bed all day - then I don't even apply moisturiser, let alone the sebium xp I know it's not very good for the skin but whatever. Not wasting this elixir !! XD

I usually apply a somewhat generous amount the day before- before i go to bed. The sebium has time to sink in my skin and perform its magic. To be honest, the amount I put on my skin depends on the activity that I am going to be doing the day after. If I am going to uni - then I apply the strict minimum or none at all. If I am going on a date or something, then haha..I do not shy away from using it.

"Soin lissant purifiant" - TOTALLY ! You know when you have just straightened your hair - it feels all silky, smooth and very shiny. I get that feeling with my skin after using it.

I am not sure if people with really really extremely sensitive skin should be using this cream though. I feel like it is quite a strong formula. Nonetheless, I am not an expert so do not take my word for it.

Moreover, I adore the consistency. It is so light and not thick - as compared to other creams. It feels like dessert to my skin. I am all praise for it. A little goes a long a way as well.

One more perk - the packaging and size of the bottle. You can definitely carry this around in your handbag or purse. IT you have a date or party after work, then few hours before you can just apply a small amount. Your skin will look fantastic. It can be used as a base for make up as well - not sure if it is the conventional way of doing it - but hey, the world is your pickle my friend. What works - works.
Anyway, Bioderma generally have really good products so if you are struggling to maintain a good skin - then you might want to check out their products.

Orphan Black : Season 4 Finale | Thoughts

Hello Human Beings..

Hope you are being well.. I am not. I wish i were already dead but anyway gotta keep going.

[Only spoilers ahead]

So as I mentioned before, I am completely obsessed with Orphan Black and yesterday was the season 4 finale.
Now, OB is a show that I have binged watched till season 4 episode 7, therefore I did not have to wait for new episodes, which meant cliff hangers did not really bother me (perk of binge watching). However, now it sucks!! I have to wait till next season !!

Rachel showed her 50 shades of bitchiness, stabbed her own mother, stabbed Sarah and somehow became the head of Neolution. I feel like killing Rachel, she really seems like an entirely different person than the other clones. Kudos to Tatiana for the brilliant acting.
That speech of hers on the board was disgusting really. They should put her in the lab and cut off her arms or something and see if they grow back, duh. And ew that 'sex' scene with Ferdinand. What the hell is wrong with that Ferdi-thing? His desperation is pathetic XD

Delphine is back, alive and well, reunited with Cossima, who is dying. She was able to find the cure but Susan tricked her.
The scene below was totally overwhelming. I was never a fan of their lovestory but after this finale, I might be :p

Krystle was totally hilarious in that episode :p

Her reaction upon seeing Sarah was epic !! "She's a 7 on a good day and I've been told I am a 10"
Hah! xD

Sarah mimicked Krystle !! Totally nailed it:p

I really missed Alison throughout the episode.. Donnie is staying in the woods with Helena. How innocently Helena offered to help her sestras :" Do you want for me to kill this Evy Cho?"

Donnie and Helena are so cute !!! I adore Donnie - he is so dumb and stupid xp Too cute <3

Also, can we talk about Arthur and Felix's friendship? LOVE LOVE LOVE !!
A : " I have to say this is some of your finest work Felix"
F: " Thank you Arthur. I do respect your opinion"

Anyway, I'm really curious about that man on the island. Who's he? The ultimate head of Neolution? The person who wrote that book?

The episode was very dramatic - a 7 out of 10 :p
Can't wait for season 5!!

Climate Change is real, WAKE UP !

Dear Humans of the world,

This is going to be an unconventional rant on climate change. I will not put statistics or big words and I will try to keep it as simple as possible so that any person reading this, understands.

It makes me furious how people do not care about their own planet. It's frustrating how most of us think that somebody else is going to do something and find a solution.. In the mean time..just wait around, consume, produce more waste and die unhealthy without leaving a positive impact on the world.

We are a result of evolution and natural selection - nature does not owe us anything. Rather, we owe it to nature to be respectful and not damage, destroy, ruin, devastate, and any related verbs it.

If you consume, then be responsible enough to learn about waste disposal. Or do something that will counteract your actions. Plant a tree. Walk instead of driving. Use mass transportation. Why don't people use busses more often? Busses I feel are the safest means of transportation..unless you are alone with 50 psychos - which is highly unlikely.

If you fancy cars, then dear consumer, you are king. You have all the means to put a certain pressure on companies for them to manufacture more environmental friendly cars. Do it.

Human consumption is TOO much. There are so many useless products out there. Like honestly, it is shameful that we are breeding this culture of stupidity and wastage.

So many people have access to information and yet actively choose to ignore what's going on around the world. Do not get me started on people who bring down those trying to do something.

If the planet did not have an adequate climate a few million years ago, you would probably not even be here right now.

Also, what's with the urge to pro create? 7+ billion humans is more than enough. Start taking birth control. You probably cannot even guarantee that your future kids are going to have a job, a roof over their heads or even potable drinking water. Adopt. There are hundreds of abandoned babies out there. Plus, girls, you do not have to ruin your figure whatsoever going through a pregnancy, Or keep it down to 1-2 kids ( I'm the 3rd child in my family, and trust me, i'd rather not have been born at all).

Moreover, if celebrities such as Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed, Leonardo Dicaprio - naming only a few here, can devote their time to spreading the message and doing something for the planet, then why can't you? Here is a video that should inspire you (if it does not, go live under a rock please) :

Anyway. Spread love - to your bloody planet as well. Treat it like your home.

Selfless joy

Today's blog is a dedication to my favourite human in the whole wide world :)

It's weird really to feel genuine happiness for somebody else on their achievements, like an absolute selfless pride, joy and excitement for someone who is an entirely different being from your own (or maybe that's just me?). Someone with whom you cannot define your relationship through tangible means or even begin to explain the exact feeling you get when you see their eyes wrinkling out of pure happiness (especially [not necessarily] when you are the reason behind it). It is somewhere along the lines of feeling fluttering butterflies in your belly or having your breath taken away. I get the whole responsibility of the brain in all of this. Nonetheless, it is very hard not to think of that feeling as some form of supernatural power.

Anyway, i just want to congratulate my special human as he embarks on an entirely new journey and wish him all the very best <3

Arguments, fights and all the bickering aside, I love you and need you always. I have no idea where all that love roots from. Roots only seem to be growing in spite of everything though. You always give me reasons to look up to you and you never fail to impress me. I would mention your name but then this blog would no longer remain anonymous :p

Humans of the world, do not forget that little things count as much as big ones. Take time out to tell your loved ones how you feel about them. It is a harsh world.. One never knows what may happen the next moment.

ORPHAN BLACK | The Clones

Hello Humans !!

Can we put a spotlight on Orphan Black? Like, how amazing is that show??! I adore it, especially because I study Biology and Bioethics are so strong against human cloning. It is quite fascinating to get an insight onto how it might be if clones existed or the extents of gene therapy. Imagine having various versions of..well, yourself essentially. Cool, right?

So the show is about the clones and their attempts to find out about their creators, killers and this new phenomenon called Neolution. As the story proceeds, the clones begin to share sibling like relationships, at times switching between one another(one of the things I love most).
Tatiana Maslany is a superb actress, I actually forget sometimes that it's in fact one person playing all the various characters. So here is a summary of some of the characters and what I fancy about them.

1. Elizabeth Childs

Detective
25 shades of depressed
Over emotional
Drowned by her unrequited love for Paul (definition of HOTNESS) and could not bear his betrayal

2. Sarah Manning

Punk chic,
Previously a drug dealer,
Has a daughter named Kira (who's dad is Karl - played by Michiel Huisman, who also happens to be Daario Naharis from Game of Thrones!!! All the more reasons to watch Orphan Black huh :p),
Foster daughter of Mrs S.
Definite growth curve through the seasons - from immature to the leader of the clan.

3. Alison Hendrix

An absolute delight :p She is hilarious - unintentionally :p
Her relationship with Donnie goes through ups and downs - especially when she discovers that he is her monitor but eventually all falls into place.
She is slightly sadistic I would say or maybe psychotic (remember where she tortured Donnie? And let her neighbour die? And buried Leaky? :p)
Soccer mum

4. Cossima

Nerd
Scientist
Somewhat Rastafarian since she has dreadlocks and smokes weed a lot
Falls stupidly in love with Delphine despite being aware that the latter is her monitor
Does not make the smartest choices at times
Very passionate about the science

5. Helena

Blonde, Ukrainian, Religious - an extremist, trained to be an assassin and kills without pity. She is not very talkative but the way she speaks is adorable. She loves children and she is a good person at heart. I can't help but laugh during her scenes even though she is sort of sadistic and ruthless. Some of my favourite lines from her :

"You are a shit mother ! "

"Hello Dirty Paul"

"You threaten Babies?"

"Hello Sestra"

7. Krystle

Dumb blonde
Beautician
Has an encounter with Castor clones
Aware that there is something very wrong happening but has no clue about clone club
Talks to everybody about everything xp
A certain innocence prevails in the dumbness :p

8. MK

Computer Geek
On the run - all the time
Paranoid, slightly too much for my taste
Considered Beth one of her closest friends
Lost Nikki (another clone) during a fire and seeks revenge for her death

6. Rachel Duncan

If i had to describe her in one word : BITCH! Like actual bitch alert.
Self aware clone
Into bondage apparently (referring to the steamy sex scene with Paul)
Classy and elegant
A figure of power and authority
Unpredictable
Definitely cannot be trusted
Seems to hold a grudge against Sarah for being fertile

There are males clones as well, from project Castor but I don't like them so :p

Elaine & Lancelot || 03

She was everything he'd ever wanted in a woman except for the stigmas that came along
He hid his relationship to her from the world for fear of tarnishing his honour and pride
What could a Knight ever want to protect more aside from his stature?
For Lancelot, t'were that Lady dwelling in the tower

Water stood between her tower and Camelot
Strong as he was, he could row from dusk to nightfall
There, Elaine awaited in a long white dress
What sight could be sweeter than this, he pondered

He kissed her deeply, knowing that no one would watch
He could see how she longed for him
He could see the sparkle in her eyes as soon as she would see him
Yet, he could also feel the pain in her heart when he hugged her

He knew she yearned to see the world that lay beyond those waters
Well aware of her dreams, he tried to distract her in what little time they would get to spend together
If only he could turned what she weaved into reality
If only he could get her out of that tower..

Recent Read : After You by Jojo Moyes | Thoughts

Hello Humans !!

I just finished reading After you by Jojo Moyes. Honestly, I am not very happy with it. Had it been a book on its own, I would have probably liked it better. The book simply does not match up to Me before You. I hate to admit that I found the sequel to be a bad idea. Nonetheless, Jojo is still my favourite author and I admire her writing.

So here are my thoughts about the sequel :

I was very disappointed that Louisa did not go to school or do any of the things I had anticipated. However, if she did everything as per my liking, it would have been too perfect. Jojo stuck to the character's personality and traits, which was hard to digest throughout the book. I wanted to punch Louisa in the face for many of the shitty decisions but then that only reminds us that people are who they are. You cannot really change them. As rightly said in the trailer of Me before You, you cannot change people, you only love them. I kept wondering if Sam really had to be in the picture? Like had he not been there, would Louisa have grown so much? Louisa's lack of ambitions was too much in focus. I can't stand unambitious people and it really bug me. However, I do understand her reluctance to leave Sam & Lily to shift to New York. Been there, felt that. Glad that she eventually went though, it slightly made up for my disappointment.

Despite they way she is, I really liked Lily. The girl was in desperate need of genuine love and attention. I can totally empathise with her.

Louisa's mother seems to have grown more than any other character. I loved how she started attending classes and all. She is a lucky woman that her husband finally understood she was a person of her own and needed to do things for herself once in a while. Not sure every woman out there would eventually end up with such support. If only every man would learn from Bernard :p

Treena is my favourite. Not scared to say how she feels, always pushing her sister even if it does not work and extremely hard working in spite of her son. She battled through and made it. I was actually wishing that Louisa would adopt the same path as her.

Mr Traynor is an arsehole. In my opinion atleast. Felt very sad for Camilla.

There is an incident which I suppose was the climax of the book. It was totally unnecessary. Like what was the point? It lengthened the story is all. The plot could have done without it.

I tried my best to like the book. Unfortunately, it ruined the whole Me before You heaven I was in. Hopefully the movie will help me recover :p
The writing was impeccable though. For that I would rate After you with one star. Otherwise with the story line, I would not have given any.

Recent Read : All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven | Thoughts

Hello Humans !!

I recently read All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven - completed it yesterday actually.

The book really had an impact and I thought I would share my thoughts about it on my blog. If you have not read it, then do not read any further (spoiler alert) unless you want an insight before reading it.

I found death, moving on and mental health to be the main themes of the book. The main characters do fall in love but I personally would not categorise the book as romantic.

It is rather the struggle of Finch - the main protagonist and how he tries to be a better version of himself because he really likes Violet. Yet, the trying to be better part is not as overpowering for me to characterise it as an act out of sheer love. I felt that Finch genuinely wanted to feel better - not just for Violet but for himself and as well as the rest of his family - his mother and his sisters. However, the fact that no one really paid attention to his mental health and that he did not get the adequate support made it really hard for him. He was alone really - even when he began to go out with Violet. No one really knew what was happening in his mind. This character gives you a sort of education on how one should never be judgemental towards people who do not fit in. You never know what may be happening to them and they might not be able to share it with anybody.
The counsellor seemed to try his best but was not of much help to Finch - not that he did not want any help, just somewhere he seems to have felt that he deserved none. Anyhow, Finch is a beautiful character - very well portrayed & written.

Violet on the other hand is dealing with the recent death of her sister. Somehow that tragedy changed her and gave a deeper facet to her character. She genuinely wanted to help Finch. Although, she was probably the only one who actually tried to do something about it - even if it backfired. Her approach was too invasive maybe and as a reader, you really learn a lot through her character.

The characters are very well structured and the ending of the book was overwhelmingly heart breaking. I tried imagining myself in Violet's shoes - I could not. I really hope no one has to go through that ever. Also, I love how the book is not all lovey-dovey as most Young Adult fiction. On top of that, the story is somewhat inspired by true events - as told by Jennifer in the end of the book, makes it even more special. There is a certain kind of uniqueness to books that have a personal touch to them and you can really feel it in this one.

I have read online that the book is similar to The Fault in Our Stars and I beg to differ. I completely disagree because the plot is different, the characters are different and the book portrays another aspect of illness altogether. You do get reminded of TFIOS and maybe even The Perks of being a Wallflower. The book is completely genuine though & it's definitely worth a read, if not a couple of reads :p
